Rotaru addressed the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Saint Nicholas Day and thanked the defenders

Rotaru greeted Ukrainians on two holidays and expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On Wednesday, December 6, Ukrainians celebrate two important holidays at once: Armed Forces Day and St. Nicholas Day. On this occasion, Ukrainian national legend Sofia Rotaru expressed her congratulations.

As usual, she kept it brief and shared a festive picture on her Instagram stories. The singer selected an image that showcased her pro-Ukrainian stance and conveyed gratitude to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Thank you for the miracles. Thank you for the holidays," reads the caption on the picture, created by artist Nikita Titov.

The image depicts St. Nicholas sitting on a soldier's knee. The festive post symbolizes that it is only thanks to the bravery and protection of the heroes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that Ukrainians can celebrate.

Sofia Rotaru rarely communicates with her followers, but on important Ukrainian holidays, after shelling, and on the occasion of other significant events, she sometimes reminds them of her pro-Ukrainian position.

The star has her reasons for disappearing from the information field and avoiding live communication. An insider close to the artist's family revealed to OBOZ.UA that Rotaru is trying to avoid contact with people out of fear of contracting the coronavirus again. Rumor has it that the singer had a very difficult time with the Omicron.

We remind you that on the fourth day of the full-scale invasion, the singer clearly stated that Russian missiles were killing civilian Ukrainians but then disappeared for almost six months. The star returned with a call to donate to Ukrainian funds and expressed hopes for peace.

Since then, she has regularly congratulated the Ukrainian Armed Forces, responded to rocket attacks and terrorist incidents, advocated for the release of defenders from captivity, and acknowledged various holidays. She conveyed these messages using emoticons and expressive images. The singer has never given any interviews, but according to Latvian singer Laima Vaikule, on February 24, 2022, the artist was in Kyiv and barely survived the most difficult night.

As OBOZ.UA reported, Sofia Rotaru turned down all offers, including those from Russia, to perform for substantial fees.
