One person arrested: new details emerge in the death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry

New high-profile details have emerged in the case of the death of Friends star Matthew Perry. Police have arrested a person involved in the story for the first time, and several unnamed suspects have been formally charged.

At least that's what law enforcement sources told NBC News. According to the sources, at least one person was arrested in Southern California on Thursday morning, August 15.

Federal prosecutors are expected to release a report soon detailing the charges against the arrested person and others.

Despite the fact that the actor's death was ruled an accident, the police still have questions about how the dead man got a lethal amount of ketamine in his body.

In May, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that it was working with federal authorities to find out the source of the drug. It is used as an alternative treatment for depression.

Perry was undergoing a course of supervised ketamine therapy. The last documented treatment took place more than a week before the fateful day. However, the medical examiner determined that the amount of ketamine in Perry's system at the time of his death was the amount typically used for anesthesia during surgery.

This led to the theory that someone brought the drug to the celebrity's house and then left. At least two famous women who knew Perry have come forward in this case.

The star's friend, whose phone and laptop were seized, was the ex-wife of the scandalous actor Charlie Sheen, Brooke Mueller. She is cooperating with the investigation but denies that she was in any way involved in the death of the Friends actor.

As a reminder, he passed away on October 28, 2023, in his home while swimming in a jacuzzi. The body was found by his assistant, who called the emergency services.
