On the eve of 2025, "foreign agent" Monetochka dreamed of a Kyiv-Petersburg flight and gave Russians advice on what to wish for the chimes
Russian singer Monetochka (real name: Elizaveta Girdimova), who left Russia and condemns the war in Ukraine, has released a new song in which she "dreamed" of friendship between Ukrainians and Russians. "Inoagentka", as she is called at home, showed a New Year's video and addressed her fans with words of gratitude. The artist urged listeners to make a wish this year not only for "world peace" but also "something for themselves."
In the track titled "Above the Roofs", the singer sings about the dream flights that will connect Russian cities with European capitals. In particular, it is about the Moscow-Paris and Kyiv-St. Petersburg routes.
In addition, Monetochka dreams that airplanes will no longer transport live ammunition, but instead carry civilian passengers. The Russian singer sings that the thieves will go away, probably referring to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In the original, the lyrics read as follows:
"Somewhere above the rooftops, sound overtakes.
Moscow-Paris, Kyiv-Petersburg flight.
No empty seat: brothers, grandmothers, brides
And, of course, you, my dear friend
I rewind the tape to the next frame
Where the villains leave, bones crunching,
Airplanes don't carry ammunition to the depots
Airplanes carry people to their guests."
Many Russians commented on the video and thanked the artist for the atmospheric song. Among the words of gratitude, there were also those from Ukrainians. "December 31st. I'm sitting in Odesa. We have been under fire since late at night. But I'm used to it, like everyone else, I'm just trying to somehow make a holiday for myself. Then I come across this video. I think I'll watch it, maybe Lisa will give me a little hope and faith, as she always does. Tears are rolling down by themselves, because I don't understand one thing... How can there be a Monetochka and missiles flying at us around the clock in the same world?" wrote one of the fans.
"Lisa immersed me in the atmosphere of my childhood, in Belarus, when we flew from Minsk to St. Petersburg. A carefree and light time of the soul. I had goosebumps throughout the video. Thank you, Lisa, for your support and love for your viewers. Happy New Year," another comment reads. "Happy New Year, my dear Donetsk, I miss you so much. Stay strong... I'll be there soon," wrote a third commenter.
