Not just Putin and Lukashenko: which leaders were not invited to the coronation of Charles III

The leader of Iran was also an unwelcome guest

In just a few days there will be a historic event - the coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla. The ceremony will take place on 6 May 2023 in Westminster Abbey in London, and the service will be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The coronation celebrations will last three days, and royalty and heads of state will be invited to the event.

As it became known, seven countries were put on the "black list. This means that their heads will not be able to attend the ceremony. The Reuters news agency reports about it. An invitation was sent to the leaders of those countries with which Britain has full diplomatic relations.

Apart from Russia and Belarus, the leaders of Iran, Myanmar, Syria, Afghanistan, and Venezuela will not attend this year's event. Note that from the DPRK and Nicaragua will be diplomats, but not the rulers. Recall that Vladimir Putin and his henchman Alexander Lukashenko were also not invited to the farewell to Elizabeth II.

As for the coronation, for the first time since 1902 the ceremony will take place on a day off rather than a working day. On May 8, the British will get an extra day of rest. After the official part, a loud concert is expected, which will be attended by international celebrities, a laser show and popular festivities.

The event will be broadcast live on British TV stations BBC One, BBC Two, ITV 1 and Sky News or broadcast on BBC iPlayer, ITVX or the YouTube channel Sky News. The gala will begin at 1 p.m. Kyiv time on May 6.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL showed how Charles III looked when he was young. It's hard to imagine that the statuesque elderly monarch was once called the sex symbol of his generation. For the attention of His Majesty fought women all over the world.
