"No one wrote about it in Ukraine." Grebenshchikov tells how he helped Ukrainians in secret during the war

Russian musician and composer Boris Grebenshchikov, who has been condemning the Putin regime since 2014, spoke about the non-public assistance he provided to Ukrainians during the war. According to the artist, he and his foreign colleagues raised funds for a children's hospital in Kyiv.

The artist said this in an interview on the YouTube channel "DW in Russian." The musician noted that only a few global media outlets wrote about his activities, but there was no mention in Ukrainian media.

"We put together an album of rare works by my favorite musicians, all of whom gladly donated to a children's hospital in Kyiv. These are people I know personally. They told me they were in a difficult situation, so I decided this was a way I could help. All my musician friends from the UK and the US were happy to take part," the artist shared.

As noted by Boris Grebenshchikov, this assistance was not public, as it was not covered by the Ukrainian media. According to the composer, he did not receive any feedback from the citizens of our country.

"They didn't write about it. The Times and the Financial Times reported it, but nobody in Ukraine seems to have written about it," the artist added.
