"Mom, they said that dad died. What is it?" Svitlana Bilonozhko spoke frankly about the moment of the tragedy, even though the doctors gave her great hope

Vitalii and Svitlana Bilonozhko

People's Artist of Ukraine Svitlana Bilonozhko said that her husband, the famous singer Vitalii Bilonozhko, despite having a very difficult and insidious diagnosis, kept the disease under control. The tragedy that happened to the singer came as a big surprise to the family.

According to Svitlana Bilonozhko, doctors gave the artist very encouraging prognoses. She spoke about this in an interview with OBOZ.UA.

Svitlana says that her husband had a difficult diagnosis, but he did not speak publicly about the disease: "People always want to see us as beautiful and strong. Who would talk about illness? Vitalii had diabetes. He was treated for a long time, taking medications and undergoing examinations. But this is a very insidious disease that eats away at everything inside. We have many friends with this diagnosis. One of our friends came to work in the morning, went into his office, and dropped dead, can you imagine? But we never thought that this could happen to us."

According to the artist, after the New Year, Vitalii Bilonozhko felt unwell, so his wife called an ambulance: "They took him to the hospital. And everything seemed to be going well, he was being treated. And suddenly my younger son called me in the morning: "Mom, they said that dad died. What is it?" I stopped hearing and seeing for a second. Vitalii's heart gave out... They tried to start him up, but they couldn't do anything."

Svitlana thinks it's strange that Vitalii died because of heart problems, because the couple had recently been to a cardiologist: "The doctor said he had a weak heart, but many people live with it. Take your medication." "You know, he had a very good heart, he was rooting for everyone. It must have been so hard, he took on so much," the singer adds.

Svitlana recalls that the last time she saw her husband in the hospital, nothing boded ill. "How did I realize that night that I would not see him again?" she says, crying. "I came to the hospital to see him, and we talked about everyday things. "How is everything at home?" - "Everything is fine." - "You feed my peacocks." - "Don't worry - you taught me everything, I know what to do." Our sons were with us. I remember laughing, remembering something. It was a very warm atmosphere."
