Matthew Perry touchingly honored at the 2024 Emmy Awards with the song "I'll Be There for You": the room erupts in applause
On January 5, the stars gathered in Los Angeles for the 2024 Emmy Awards. However, amidst the jokes and joy, there was also room for memories of the losses the Hollywood community suffered last year. In particular, the audience honored the actor and star of the Friends series Matthew Perry, who died in October 2023.
The tribute was performed by Charlie Puth, who is a fan of the sitcom. He sang a song from 2015 called "I'll See You Again", which was dedicated to the late Paul Walker, the Daily Mail reports.
The singer was joined by the duo The War and Treaty, who surprised the audience with a touching performance of the Friends song "I'll Be There For You".
During the tribute, pictures of movie legends that Hollywood lost in 2023 were shown on the screen. The last of them was Matthew Perry. After seeing it, the audience burst into applause.
