Linkin Park is back with a new vocalist and their first song in 7 years: who is Emily Armstrong, who will replace Chester Bennington
American rock band Linkin Park has officially announced the relaunch of their creation with a new vocalist and drummer. At a live performance on September 5 in Los Angeles, the artists played the first unique musical release in 7 years, since the collective suffered a tragedy - the suicide of lead singer Chester Bennington.
His place was taken by Emily Armstrong, despite rumors of collaboration with the leader of the band Sum 41. About it writes Variety.
Musicians announced a world tour and a new album, the main song of which will be the single The Emptiness Machine. The music video for it gained more than 1.3 million views on YouTube in 6 hours, so the return of Linkin Park can be called a success.
From Zero will premiere on November 15 and will be the band's first full-length effort since 2017's One More Light, released two months before Chester Bennington's death.
The collective, which includes Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn along with two new members, will embark on a six-date concert tour that will span Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul and Bogota.
Emily Armstrong, who can already be heard on the single, came to Linkin Park from the band Dead Sara, which she herself founded. The band played Muse's opening act, but couldn't boast the same popularity as the LP.
The Los Angeles native has been singing and playing guitar since childhood, and dropped out of high school as a teenager to become a rock musician. On Sept. 5, she re-sang all the major hits with Chester as the main voice.
Songwriter and producer Colin Brittain became a drummer and also joined the concert of legendary musicians.
