Legendary Shchedryk performed by AFU soldiers on bandura has touched the network

Ukrainian soldiers played Mykola Leontovych's legendary "Shchedryk" on banduras, moving netizens to tears. The iconic melody, which is known all over the world and is perhaps the main symbol of Christmas, was performed right at the front against the backdrop of destroyed Ukrainian "landscapes."

The corresponding video was posted on the Instagram page of the Kulturnyi Desant. In the video, Ukrainians could see three famous bandura players, now defenders of Ukraine Yurko Myronets, Dmytro Romanchuk, and Taras Stoliar.

"More than a century ago, Mykola Leontovych reinterpreted an ancient ritual melody to let the world hear about a brave independent Ukraine. Composed by the Ukrainian composer in Pokrovsk, "Shchedryk", which today brings joy to all who celebrate Christmas, has become a global symbol of Ukrainian culture and a harbinger of a passionate desire for self-determination," the video description reads.

Courageous heroes in military uniforms with traditional Ukrainian instruments sensually performed the famous melody of the carol.

Listeners admitted in the comments that "Shchedryk" always gives them goosebumps when listening to it, but when military played it, it gained even more symbolism, as well as sincerity.

Moreover, the Russians staged a cynical ice show called "Vechera Na Khutore," which is also in Ukrainian. The barrage of cynicism and absurdity does not end there. This whole bacchanal was organized by figure skater Tatiana Navka, a native of Dnipro and now the wife of Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
