The American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez could not hold back her tears after the premiere of the movie "Kiss of the Spider Woman," in which she played one of the main roles, at the Sundance Film Festival. The 55-year-old star appeared in front of the audience in a striking webbed-up gown and admitted that participating in this drama helped her realize her lifelong dream.

The fact is that since childhood, the artist has been watching musicals on television and hoped that in adulthood she would be able to join the creation of one of them, Variety writes. The celebrity managed to achieve her goal thanks to director Bill Condon.

"I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. The main reason I wanted to do this in the first place was because my mom used to sit me down in front of the TV when the musical 'West Side Story' was on once a year, on Thanksgiving. I was just mesmerized. At the time, I thought: "This is exactly what I want to do." This has always been my goal. This was the first time I was able to do it, and this man (Bill Condon – Ed.) made my dream come true," the actress said emotionally.

At the first screening of the film, Jennifer Lopez appeared in an original look. The star chose a fitted translucent dress with a shimmering cobweb that emphasized her figure, designed by Valdrin Sahiti. The singer complemented the outfit with black heels and an elegant handbag. She tied her hair into a trendy voluminous bun and opted for nude shades in her makeup.

"Kiss of the Spider Woman" is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Argentine writer Manuel Puig. The film reveals the story of two cellmates: political prisoner Valentin Arregui and queer personality Luis Molina, who was sentenced to imprisonment for public indecency. To pass the time, the latter tells his friend the story of a Hollywood musical starring his favorite star, Ingrid Luna, played by J. Lo.

It is worth noting that the movie, in which one of the main characters is genderfluid, i.e. does not have a stable gender identity, was released a few days after Donald Trump said: "From now on, it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two sexes: male and female." Because of this, in his speech during the film's premiere, Bill Condon noted that one of the main goals of this project is to overcome all the differences between people, because "the only right way is love and kindness."
