Ivan Dorn is preparing for the release of a Russian-language album: a Ukrainian woman put the singer in his place on the day of the enemy's attack on Kyiv

Ivan Dorn is preparing for the release of a Russian-language album

Popular Ukrainian musician Ivan Dorn is preparing to release an album titled "Dorndom." Interestingly, the tracks on this album are in Russian. The singer wrote them before the full-scale invasion and planned to release them in May 2022. Of course, at that time, the artist canceled the release, assuring that he would not release Russian songs at all. However, it is clear that his conscious pro-Ukrainian position has changed.

On his Telegram channel, Dorn mentioned that he had not re-recorded the album, indicating that it would be in Russian, as planned two years ago. Moreover, the artist shared a link to the Russian media outlet that announced the release of his album on his channel.

The musician also mentioned that the album is currently in the mixing stage. "It will be out soon," the singer said in Russian in the video.

Naturally, the news of the upcoming release of the Russian-language album has outraged many Ukrainians. This has raised reasonable suspicions that the singer wants to work for the Russian audience again, as he did until February 24, 2022. Moreover, the announcement has already been made public in the Russian media.

In the opinion of the OBOZ.UA editorial board, a particularly poignant commentary on this topic was written by Ukrainian communicator-blogger Nadiia Pototska. On her Instagram, she reacted to another enemy attack on Kyiv with missiles and kamikaze drones that took place on the night of December 13. The Ukrainian woman, describing how she woke up from the explosions and ran to safety with her son, reminded that in addition to the physical war, there is also a diplomatic and cultural war going on.

According to Nadiia, actions such as the release of a Russian-language album by a Ukrainian artist contribute to making the war between Ukraine and Russia endless.

"And now, along with the news about the maimed bodies of people, I read how Ivan Dorn is preparing to release his Russian-language album. Why? Is music back in the palette? And he will release it, the album will top the charts, it will become a hit. And this will once again legitimize the Russian language and Russian things. But worst of all, it will set an example for other artists: 'It's okay, you can stop playing the game. Russian is allowed again.' And so we will go into another cycle of the return of the Russian language, Russian culture, and then the common space. And then we'll go into another round of war again, if we survive it, of course," the Ukrainian commented.

She also addressed the artist emotionally: "The photos show some of the consequences of the night attack. I can't post the child's cut body, but we can imagine it. So, Ivan Dorn, this is also your fault. But that's not all. Are you okay with this, and you're writing a new album in Russian? And legitimizing it? Knowing English, having a million opportunities?"

Earlier, OBOZ.UA also reported that Dorn would perform at a New Year's party in Bali. It would be fine, but the artist will entertain, among other things, the Russian audience, for whom he has been working for many years. Details are in the article.
