"It's not over yet": California meteorologist who warned people about deadly fires has made another important statement

A meteorologist from California, who warned people about deadly fires, made another important statement

Edgar McGregor, a meteorologist from California, USA, who last week helped save hundreds of lives with timely warnings of wildfires that were not yet raging in Los Angeles, made a new important statement. According to him, despite the reduction of the immediate threat, the danger has not disappeared.

In California, the meteorologist was nicknamed a hero for warning of the disaster and calling for evacuation, which helped hundreds of residents to escape. According to People, he realized that the Santa Ana winds, which arrived in Los Angeles a week before the wildfires broke out, could pose a serious problem.

"I couldn't even realize it mentally. I didn't run into a burning building and get third-degree burns trying to save someone's life. People send me all these comments, and I think to myself: "I was just doing my job," McGregor admitted. "I told people that if a forest fire broke out, a thousand houses would burn. It would be a disaster."

He then urged his social media followers to "turn your car around with the front out, find all your important documents, social security cards, birth certificates, insurance documents, house documents, things that are going to be extremely difficult to replace or impossible to replace, and put them by the door or in the car and just wait and watch." His assumptions about a possible fire did indeed come true, destroying hundreds of homes.

After the fire engulfed the Los Angeles suburbs, McGregor continues to inform the community about the possible risks. According to him, despite the reduction of the immediate threat, the danger has not disappeared.

"I want to say that it's not over yet," he emphasized. The meteorologist believes that in the absence of rain and with new storms, areas such as Hollywood and other foothill locations could be affected. He also warns of possible landslides after the rains begin.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote about the origin of the terrifying video of the fire on the mountain with the HOLLYWOOD sign and what the main attraction of Los Angeles looks like now. The fire destroyed entire neighborhoods in the city, and there are even rumors on the Internet that the famous Hollywood Hills landmark has been burned to the ground.
