"It was a setup": Olia Poliakova's producer reveals who was behind her quarrel with Tina Karol

Olia Poliakova's producer reveals who is behind her quarrel with Tina Karol

Mykhailo Yasynskyi, the producer of singer Olia Poliakova, commented on his client's scandal with Tina Karol. Back then, Poliakova called her colleague a "mourner at a funeral" on the "Mask" show. Yasynskyi admitted that it was beneficial for the project editors to disseminate the artist's comment to the general public.

He explained that by creating a scandal, those working on the show planned to use the marketing component and thus draw more attention to the show. Yasynskyi explained why the phrase, which was not supposed to be aired, appeared there in an interview with Muzz_Trend.

"The situation with the 'crier' was a setup by the editors of this show. She (Olia Poliakova – Ed.) said it into the microphone in her ear. That is, they realized that this would cause a scandal and draw attention to this show," Yasynskyi revealed.

As a reminder, in 2021, during the "Masks" show, Olia Poliakova, who was a judge there, used the phrase "mourner at a funeral" to refer to Tina Karol. The viewers who watched this episode criticized the artist in the comments on YouTube and compared what Poliakova said to the fact that Tina Karol buried her husband Yevhen Ohir in 2013. The man died as a result of a battle with stomach cancer.

Later, Poliakova explained that it was not about the personality itself, but about her work. Moreover, she also emphasized that the editors did not cut that moment from the broadcast on purpose.

"This only applies to Tina Karol's work and songs. I really think that lately Tina's repertoire has been very sad. But I love and respect Tina Karol very much and would never joke about her personal tragedy and history. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt and offended by this. And I have a special request to the editing directors: if you see that something is going wrong and can be interpreted incorrectly, then cut it out, because you cut out so much good stuff that the only thing left is that the jury is inadequate," Poliakova said at the time.
