On the occasion of the Day of Embroidery, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena Zelenska showed off their embroidered shirts inspired by Ukrainian symbols. The Ukrainian leader wore a black linen embroidered shirt with coats of arms, while the first lady dressed elegantly in a shirt in the style of a Yavoriv shawl.

The cost of both national elements of the couple's wardrobe is about 15 thousand hryvnias. Domestic brands inspired by Ukrainian symbols created them. OBOZ.UA decided to talk about the meaning of embroidered shirts.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is wearing a black linen embroidered shirt called "Vidsich" – "Fightback". It was created by the Etnodim brand, inspired by the struggle of the Ukrainian people. The price on the brand's website is 4400 UAH without a discount (3960 UAH with a discount).

"It has ornaments of a cross, mace, sword, oak leaves, stylized coat of arms, and others. They carry symbols of courage, strength, struggle, and the historical path of Ukraine," the designers explained.

In a black shirt with white embroidery, the president personified the resilience, indomitable spirit, and determination of his people.

Olena Zelenska chose a light model created by the Gaptuvalnia brand. The "Yavorivskyi Dyvotsvit" embroidered shirt can be found on the website for 9950 UAH.

The minimalist ornament of the women's shirt is inspired by the beauty and originality of the Yavoriv shawl, which is common in the Lviv region.

It's worth adding that the Zelenskys don't always have to buy clothes. For example, during an interview, the head of state admitted that all his khaki T-shirts were sent to him by Ukrainian brands or donated by the military.

Last year, Olena Zelenska celebrated this holiday in Seoul, where she chose a specially embroidered shirt from the well-known Ukrainian brand Gunia Project for an important meeting. Exactly one year ago, the President of Ukraine posed in an embroidered linen shirt in the military style.
