Her hairstyles shocked the world. Billie Eilish named the hair color that caused her identity crisis: I don't know who I am
The world-famous singer Billie Eilish admitted that after dyeing her hair blonde, she felt out of place, which provoked a so-called identity crisis. She went through about six months in this image and then radically changed her image to become a brunette.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, she noted that 2019 was the best and most enjoyable year for her, but the coronavirus pandemic eventually forced her to resort to new experiments, which led to a change in hair color and song themes. This choice made Ailish realize that the gentle jazz style was not for her.
"I was so much myself that I couldn't see myself objectively anymore. And then I dyed my hair blonde, and I immediately thought: 'Oh, I have no idea who I am,'" she said.
According to the source, Eilish does not regret the time when she had to try to get out of her comfort zone to reflect on her life. In May 2021, she shocked her fans on Instagram with her transformation from green and black to blonde, which she wore to the Met Gala, where she appeared in an uncharacteristic look – a fluffy ball gown with a train.
"I've always wanted to do it. I was just afraid and didn't feel comfortable in my skin, and I feel like I finally did it," the star explained her decision.
In December, she started experimenting again. The star returned to her brunette style and hasn't made such drastic changes since. The only thing she did was dye her roots red.
It's worth noting that at the beginning of her singing career, in 2015, Billie Eilish "hooked" the audience with her blue hair, which, as she recalled, was an accident. "What's so interesting to me is that blue has always been my least favorite color. It makes so much sense because my hair has been blue for years. But I didn't want it to be that way – it was an accident. Someone put too much toner on my hair, and it suddenly turned lavender blue, and then it kept turning blue, and then I was known as this blue girl, and I... hated it," the singer said.
Recently, the Grammy winner has become more relaxed, which indicates that she enjoys stepping out of her comfort zone. Moreover, in an interview, the star talked about her sexual preferences and her orientation. However, she is "still afraid of women," even though she has an "uneven breath" towards them.
"I have deep connections with women in my life, friends in my life, family in my life. I am physically attracted to them. I am also so intimidated by them, by their beauty and their presence," she explained.
