Golden Globe 2024. Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy with red lipstick on his nose impressed the audience with a sincere speech
During one of the most honorable film awards of the year, the Golden Globes 2024, Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy impressed the audience with a red lipstick mark on his nose and an emotional speech, which is not usually typical for an actor. Immediately after the award was announced, Cillian's wife Yvonne McGuinness kissed the star and left a trace of happiness on his nose.
She tried to wipe the lipstick off his face, but Murphy still had to receive the award with a red nose, the Express writes. The star of "Peaky Blinders" was not shy about the new image and even jokingly began his speech with a question about it: "First question: do I have lipstick all over my nose?"
After the audience confirmed the actor's new "makeup", he decided that he did not plan to wipe it off. Subsequently, fans shared this situation on social media and had a hearty laugh with Murphy. Many compared him to the standards of their ideal boyfriend, while others simply enjoyed the achievements of their favorite actor. One of the fans also noticed his happy smile. "He should win more often because it's the best thing I've seen him laugh and smile. Otherwise, it's the Cillian I know," wrote netizen X, sharing a selection of videos with the traditionally sad actor.
This speech impressed Cillian Murphy's fans, because for more than six months now, the Internet has been spreading the idea that the actor is rather quiet, reserved and somewhat selfish. But during the award ceremony, the star refuted the public's opinion of him and proved that he is very loyal and charismatic. Murphy has been an actor for over 20 years and during this time he has refrained from public appearances and speeches, and memes about Killian are still circulating online as a man who "just wants to go home."
During his speech, Murphy praised Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan. "I realized that he was different when I first got to Christopher Nolan's set. I could tell by the level of rigor, the level of focus, the level of commitment, the complete absence of any options for changing actors that I was in the hands of a visionary director and a master."
Murphy also thanked the actors who starred with him in the movie: "One of the most beautiful and vulnerable things about acting is that you can't really do it alone. We had an incredible cast in this movie. It was magic, and some of them are here today. Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Gary Oldman. Thank you for putting up with me and keeping me in this movie."
The audience was very impressed by the performance because they expected Killian to be traditionally reserved, say one sentence and leave. In fact, the opposite happened. It's not known whether the actor was influenced by his interaction with Robert Downey Jr. who spent a lot of time with Murphy during the award ceremony, or whether the situation with the lipstick on his nose made the star show his charisma.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the movie "Oppenheimer" won the most awards with the first place at the Golden Globe Awards, although most of the bets were placed on "Barbie".
