Eurovision organisers disclose Ruslana's "special mission": where and when the singer will appear at the contest

On the eve of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine, a scandal has erupted around the singer Ruslana. The winner of the 2004 international song contest was not invited to the event. However, the singer will still take part in the show, albeit not live.

The official website of the music event, eurovisiontv, has posted information that the fans of the contest will see Ruslana in the grand final of Eurovision 2023. A special video with the singer, recorded in advance in Kyiv, will be shown live.

As reported, the Ukrainian celebrity was entrusted with a "special mission" to symbolically connect Kyiv and Liverpool. The slogan of this year's contest reflects the nature of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest and demonstrates the partnership between the UK and Ukraine. In addition, Ruslana will visit Liverpool to hold two side events (additional activities at venues for Eurofans).

"The first winner from Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest will symbolically connect Kyiv and Liverpool, her appearance will reflect the theme 'United by Music'," the website of the song contest says.

Recall that the first semi-final of Eurovision 2023 will take place on Tuesday, May 9, with 15 performers taking to the stage. The second semi-final will take place on Thursday, May 11. The final is scheduled for Saturday, May 13. During the live broadcasts, viewers will see performances by the winners from Ukraine, Jamala and Kalush Orchestra, as well as Verka Serdyuchka, Alyosha, Go_A, and Tina Karol.
