When Brad Pitt was filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, he refused to kiss Cate Blanchett. The reason was his wife Angelina Jolie (the couple divorced in 2019). The actor knew the character of his beloved very well, so he wanted to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings.

The director didn't like this decision, but he managed to persuade Pitt to do a few intimate scenes to make the actors' performance as convincing as possible for the audience.

During the filming of Spider-Man (2002), the main actors did not refuse to kiss. Only one scene was an exception. It was the moment when Spider-Man(Tobey) was hanging head down in the rain next to Mary(Kirsten).
