Comrades admired his talent: a young violinist David Yakushyn died in the war
A young Ukrainian violinist, David Yakushin, who fought bravely for the freedom and independence of his country, was killed in the Russian war. The musician did not abandon his favourite instrument even at the front line.
The death of the defender of Ukraine was reported on social media by Taras Kompanichenko, leader of the band "Chorea Cossack", People's Artist of Ukraine and a soldier. His mother also confirmed the death of her son (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).
The soldier was a volunteer and served in the territorial defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades, he fought in the East of the country.
"David Yakushin on the shield. I am crying and sobbing. Our golden child. A violinist, a piper, a young shepherd of the Christ Child. A volunteer, a warrior, a knight. Forgive us. Eternal glory! Eternal gratitude! Death to the wild cannibalistic Moscow imperialism of the Russian Federation," the post reads.
The hero's mother, Oksana Yakushyna, posted a video and a screenshot of her correspondence with her brave son. In the comments, Ukrainians expressed their condolences and shared their memories of the defender.
"My colleagues admired his talent. Everyone had a video of David playing the Ukrainian anthem somewhere in the East. My husband used to talk about his comrade-in-arms and show me the video." "I saw David once in my life and remembered him forever. A bright, young, talented man," the network recalled.
Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that a soldier from Kharkiv region, Vladislav Nesterov, was killed in the battles for the freedom of Ukraine. The defender was killed in the Svatove direction on 8 July 2023.
