Charles III did not mention three scandalous royals in his Christmas speech: what it means

King Charles III of the United Kingdom made a point of not mentioning his son, Prince Harry, and brother, Prince Andrew, in his Christmas speech, also leaving out Meghan Markle. The 76-year-old monarch addressed the nation on December 26 in a pre-recorded message from Fitzrovia Chapel at the former Middlesex Hospital in London.

He spoke of his pride in the way the communities of the United Kingdom responded to the riots and paid tribute to the medical staff who supported him and the Princess of Wales during their cancer treatment this year. This was reported by The Mirror.

But while Prince William and other members of the royal family were mentioned in his annual message, the names of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, as well as his disgraced Prince Andrew, were not. According to royal expert Tessa Dunlop, this was a sign that the king had "clearly made up his mind."

Analyzing His Highness's speech, Tessa noted that the video that accompanied the monarch's words depicted the highlights of the year: official visits to other countries, the Trooping The Color parade, his favorite daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, his wife Camilla, and William. "It is very important that Princes Andrew and Harry were also nowhere to be seen. The King has clearly defined how to 'act for the good of all' by choosing to focus on the family's strengths rather than weaknesses to support the nation (and the world) in the difficult year ahead," the historian explained.
