The American actress Cameron Diaz, who left Hollywood at the peak of her career, appeared on the red carpet for the first time in five years. On January 15, in Berlin, the 52-year-old celebrity attended the premiere of the Netflix action comedy Back in Action, where she starred alongside Jamie Foxx.
Diaz chose a black ensemble consisting of a translucent blouse, high-waisted jeans and a floor-length oversized coat. The actress posed for both individual and group shots, including with Foxx, reports Page Six.
The stars were in good spirits and smiled broadly for the cameras. Oscar winner Foxx, 57, who looked harmonious next to Cameron, appeared on the red carpet in an unconventional suit with a black and white trim.
It is noteworthy that this was the first film premiere for Diaz in 10 years. In 2014, she starred in the children's musical Annie, after which she announced her retirement and married musician Benji Madden.
Cameron last appeared on the red carpet in April 2019, reuniting with her Charlie's Angels co-stars at the Lucy Liu ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Few expected Diaz to return to the screen. In 2022, Foxx said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he had to persuade his colleague to star in the movie.
"Cameron has done so much in this business. I asked her: "Do you want to have fun? Just have fun?" I think that's what brought her to this decision," the actor admitted. "We're so happy that it's happening and we're looking forward to it.
Back in Action is a movie about the lives of former CIA agents whose cover is blown. Diaz plays Emily, and Foxx plays Matt. The comedy action movie will be released on Netflix on January 17.
