Boris Johnson, the Kardashian sisters and Russians: how guests are having fun at the three-day "wedding of the year" in India

How guests are having fun at the three-day "wedding of the year" in India

The three-day wedding of 29-year-old billionaire Anant Ambani, son of India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and his chosen one, Radhika Merchant, is in full swing, but guests are so excited that they have been sharing footage of the lavish celebration in Mumbai, India, all weekend. Among the hundreds, if not thousands, of guests at the celebration, you can find former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian, wrestler John Cena, and even Russians.

All the attendees had a special dress code: during the wedding, they were to wear only Indian folk clothes, including saris for women and kurta (a loose-fitting tunic and pants) for men. However, there were those who violated the bride and groom's request, such as Boris Johnson. According to the Daily Mail, his wife Carrie Johnson appeared in a silver lehenga, while the former prime minister decided not to change his classic look and came in a black suit with his trademark green tie.

The couple took their three children with them to India: 4-year-old Wilf, 2-year-old Romy, and 1-year-old Frank, who appeared at the celebration in traditional Indian clothes. Boris Johnson danced with them in his arms throughout the festive evening.

It turned out that, in addition to well-known world stars, the newlyweds managed to invite wealthy Russians, whose existence is not even known to the residents of the Russian Federation. According to the Russian media, one of them was a woman named Albina, for whose sake even a makeup artist with one of the highest prices came from the aggressor country.

"The star [Russian] makeup artist Serdar Kambarov, who says that one makeup job costs a million rubles, suddenly found himself in Mumbai at the wedding of the year. No, he's not painting the bride, he was commissioned by a certain rich Russian lady named Albina," the report said.

American film actress Khloe Kardashian actively broadcasts almost every detail of the wedding ceremony on Instagram: from her appearance with her sister Kim Kardashian in front of paparazzi cameras to huge flower arrangements.

In particular, Kim said that they would be filming part of the holiday for their reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," which has already released 20 seasons. This was reported by Teen Vogue. "We had to shoot our video because we are so happy that we are lucky enough to travel the world together. And we were also filming the Kardashians, so you can see Kim and Khloe going to India," Kim said.

Back in March 2024, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant held their first pre-wedding ceremony. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates were among the guests, 2500 dishes were on the table, and the dress code was written on 9 pages. The event even featured a performance by singer Rihanna, who hadn't given concerts in 8 years, and the bride was accused of plagiarizing her speech.

According to Hindu tradition, the wedding dates of Ananth Ambani and Radhika Merchant were chosen according to the auspicious days in their birth charts. The celebration will last three days from Friday to Sunday, July 12-14.

In June, the couple went on a four-day cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. The newlyweds invited about 1200 guests on board, for whom Katy Perry, David Guetta and the Backstreet Boys performed.

A week ago, the last pre-wedding ceremony in the style of "royal glamor" took place. The Sangeet, as it is called in India, was attended not only by the couple's relatives, but also by stars.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote about the first day of the three-day pompous "wedding of the year" celebration in Mumbai. The couple keeps the number of guests a secret, but the celebration will take place at the Jio World Convention Center and the Ambani mansion, which has 27 floors and can accommodate 16 thousand people.
