Another famous band has banned Trump from using their songs for the election campaign: which stars did it before

Donald Trump was banned from using ABBA's music

The world-famous Swedish music band ABBA drew attention to Donald Trump's use of their music in his presidential campaign. He turned on the song The Winner Takes It All to allegedly hint at his upcoming victory, but only angered the band's representatives and forced them to ban the scandalous man from using their hits for political purposes.

This happened after the track was played at a rally in support of Donald Trump in Minnesota, USA. According to Svenska Dagbladet, 8,000 Americans who gathered at the event sang along to The Winner Takes It All, and it was through them that representatives of the band's label learned about the violation. People posted videos of the singing at the stadium online, and that's how it reached ABBA's members.

The video for the song was shown on a huge screen. Another important factor in the outrage was the slogan "Make America Great Again," which Trump has used as a slogan for his entire political career.

"Together with the members of ABBA, we have discovered that videos have been released in which ABBA music has been used at Trump events and demand that such use be immediately taken down and removed," the ABBA record label said in a statement.

It is worth noting that during the last election campaign, Trump also used the song The Winner Takes It All. As the Daily Express wrote, ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus accused Trump of improperly using his song.

"I think he did, I can't remember. It was probably The Winner Takes It All. He totally misunderstood it [the song]. Thank God it didn't work," Ulweus said.

It is known that Celine Dion, Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, the Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne, and Neil Young have also banned Trump from using their songs in the 2024 election campaign. On August 23, the politician turned on the Foo Fighters' hit song My Hero at a rally in Arizona, USA, and was criticized by the band's representative.

"The Foo Fighters were not asked for permission, and if they had, they would not have granted it," the representative said in a statement, CNN reported.

Celine Dion has also criticized Donald Trump for using her hit song from Titanic, My Heart Will Go On: "This use is in no way authorized and Celine Dion does not approve of this or any similar use."
