A Marilyn Monroe fan paid $200,000 to be buried next to the star

A businessman bought a place near Marilyn Monroe's tomb to always be close to her

A tech investor from Beverly Hills named Anthony Jabin paid $195,000 (about 7.5 million hryvnias) for a crypt next to his favorite actress Marilyn Monroe. He said he had always dreamed of being next to the Hollywood beauty.

The place next to the 1950s celebrity became a lot at the auction. This was reported by the BBC.

The space is also located near the tomb of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, who bought the vault next to Monroe's in 1992. Fans of the actress, who died in 1962 at the age of 36, regularly visit her in Los Angeles, California. Since Monroe's death, she has continued to be a source of fascination for many people.

Her personal belongings were sold along with Hefner's at an auction titled "Icons: Playboy, Hugh Hefner, and Marilyn Monroe". Along with the crypt, Anthony Jabin also purchased a bathing suit that once belonged to the actress, as well as an old Hefner bed.

Among the other lots sold at the auction was Marilyn's pink silk dress, which went under the hammer for 325 thousand dollars (12.5 million hryvnias). Monroe's used lipstick cost 65 thousand dollars (about 2.5 million hryvnias).

Among Hefner's items sold was one of his signature smoking jackets, which was purchased for $13,000 (half a million hryvnias), complete with a pair of slippers, pajamas, and a smoking pipe. Paintings that once hung in the Playboy headquarters were also sold.
