BAE Systems, the UK's largest defence company engaged in developments in the field of armaments, information security, and aerospace, will open an office in Ukraine. The company also plans to build production and repair facilities.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and CEO Charles Woodburn, Managing Director Gaby Costigan, and Director of Cooperation with Ukraine Christian Sear. The guarantor wrote about this in his Telegram on May 30.

"We discussed the localisation of production in Ukraine. We agreed to start work on opening a BAE Systems office in Ukraine, and subsequently repair and production facilities for the company's products. We are ready to become a major regional hub for the repair and production of various types of BAE Systems products and are interested in more global relations," the President said.

BAE Systems' products include Typhoon, Jaguar, Harrier II, Tornado GR4 fighters, Challenger 2 tanks, M113 tracked platforms, as well as Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Archer self-propelled gun systems.

BAE Systems is a British company specialising in the design and manufacture of defence and security equipment. The company is one of the largest suppliers of equipment for military use in the world.

As previously reported by OBOZREVATEL, the German concern Rheinmetall plans to start production of Fuchs armoured personnel carriers in Ukraine. The process will take place at an enterprise to be built by the concern together with Ukroboronprom.
