During his visit to New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. The main topics of discussion were the situation at the front, Ukraine's defense needs and international cooperation.

This was reported by the President's Office. Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's urgent need for air protection, especially man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS).

He also briefed the Finnish leader on the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the NATO summit in Washington.

Ukrainian-Finnish defense cooperation was also one of the key topics of the meeting. The leaders discussed the prospects for joint production of drones and the exchange of experience in this area.

The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of receiving not only defense equipment from partners, but also permission to strike deep into Russian territory, which could significantly affect the course of the war.

In addition, Zelenskyy and Stubb discussed international efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine. The role of the Global South in this process was particularly emphasized.

"I had a productive meeting with President of Finland Alexander Stubb. We discussed the most important things - the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine's needs and efforts to achieve a just peace. We also talked about our defense cooperation, including the joint production of drones. I thank Finland for supporting Ukraine and our people!" Zelenskyy said.

As reported, on September 23, Zelenskyy arrived in the United States on an official visit. The visit began with an ammunition plant in Pennsylvania, where artillery and mortar shells are produced.

In New York, namely at the UN Summit of the Future, the Ukrainian president called on leaders of other countries to continue supporting Ukraine, as, according to Zelenskyy, the world needs a peaceful future and stable development.

On Good Morning America, he said that although the end of the war in Ukraine is "closer than many people think," peace depends on the West's support.

On September 26, Zelenskyy is to visit Washington and present a victory plan to US President Joe Biden. The U.S. National Security Council previously reported that the White House is looking forward to this and wants to agree on strategic goals with Ukraine for the last four months of Biden's presidency.

Before his visit to the United States, Zelenskyy gave an interview to The New Yorker, in which he said that if Biden refused to support the victory plan, Ukraine would continue to follow Plan B, which involves a grueling and protracted war with Russia.
