"We will be ready": Duda assesses the possibility of Russia's attack on NATO countries
President of Poland Andrzej Duda said he does not believe that the aggressor country Russia will attack NATO if the Alliance is ready for it. But such a scenario is possible only if the allies are strong.
According to him, only those who can be easily defeated seem to be attacked. Duda said this in an interview with Fakt.
"I don't believe in it (Russia's attack - Ed.) because I think we will be ready. Of course, this is provided that we are strong. The strong are not attacked. They attack the weak. Those who are easy to defeat," he said.
Duda also expressed the opinion that Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin probably regrets the attack on Ukraine.
"I think that if Putin knew what awaited him and his army in Ukraine, he would not have attacked Ukraine," he said.
The Polish president added that he is confident that NATO has a huge strength and its members "will be able to immediately defend themselves" because they have "brave professional soldiers" and "the best equipment."
To recap, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Russia could attack NATO countries in a few years. That is why European countries cannot allow Russia to win an aggressive war against Ukraine, as Europe's security is at stake.
