Russian diplomats disrupt contract to supply fighter jets to Ukraine

Russia has disrupted a contract to supply Ukraine with fighter jets from an unnamed country "on the other side of the planet." To achieve its goals, the terrorist state used diplomatic pressure.

Vladyslav Belbas, director of Ukrainian Armor, told about it Ekonomichna Pravda

According to him, Ukraine had agreed with one of the countries about the planes, emphasizing their need. The seller was ready to deliver.

However, one of the letters on this issue got to the Russians, after which the aggressor's diplomat began threatening local officials to "cover up" some projects for this country.

"As a result, the deal fell through because the supplier country changed its mind about offering these fighters," Belbas said.

Earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov said that the fourth-generation F-16 fighters, which Ukraine needs to achieve air superiority over the enemy, would be delivered to our military in the short term. Not only F-16s are being discussed, the list is huge, the official said. Currently, Ukraine is preparing infrastructure, hangars and a team of pilots. Along with combat aircraft, the package will include other equipment.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Belgium has confirmed its intention to provide Ukraine with F-16 multi-purpose fighters to cover its skies. However, the planes may arrive no earlier than 2025.

- Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine will receive F-16s after resolving technical issues: training of pilots, aircraft technicians, and infrastructure in the country. Kyiv's partners are discussing increasing the number of planes to be transferred to the Ukrainian Air Force.
