White House hopes for bipartisan support for Ukraine funding bill

The US Presidential Administration expects to receive bipartisan support for a bill that includes a military aid package for Ukraine. This is the "Plan A" that the US administration is focusing on.

This was stated by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. According to him, the government is working to ensure that this aid package "passes the Senate, the House of Representatives, and gets signed by the president."

"We're not focusing on plan B. We are focusing on plan A, on the adoption of a support package for Ukraine with bicameral support. It will provide the country with the tools and capabilities to continue to effectively defend and return the territories occupied by Russia," Sullivan said.

He added that "a significant number of Republicans" are committed to "moving forward with an aid package for Ukraine."

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the US Congress is preparing a "plan B". The majority of Republicans in the US Senate did not support the bill, which includes border reforms and aid to Ukraine and Israel. Therefore, there was an initiative to separate these issues for separate votes.

Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer told his fellow party members that he planned to do just that and put the document with US foreign aid to a vote.
