Number of supporters of military aid to Ukraine grows in US

As U.S. President Joe Biden and congressional Republicans debate a spending package to help Israel and Ukraine, Americans are divided over what role the United States should play in these wars. The number of those who support military aid to Ukraine has increased, while the number of supporters of Jerusalem is gradually declining.

These are the findings of a new poll conducted by FOX News. It showed that only about a third of respondents believe that the United States is doing too much for Ukraine.

The rest of the respondents believe that the level of support for our country is either right or too low.

Thus, 31% of Americans believe that the U.S. should do more to help Ukraine in its war with Russia, while 35% believe that the current level of support is sufficient. Only 30% said they believe the U.S. should do less for Kyiv.

The publication notes that since November, the number of those who believe that the United States should do more to help Ukraine has increased by 10 points. Both Democrats (+13) and Republicans (+7) are more likely to believe that Ukraine needs additional assistance.

As for Israel, a majority of 61% support Israel. But this is less than the 66% that were in November and 68% in October. That is, the number of supporters of Jerusalem is gradually decreasing.

And the rating of Biden's work in both conflicts is quite low: 37% approve of his actions regarding the war in Ukraine, while 59% disapprove. As for the war between Israel and Hamas, 33% approve of the US president's actions, while 60% disapprove.

In Congress, 1 in 5 approve of the job Biden is doing (19%), while three-quarters disapprove (77%).

The publication also noted that despite the fact that foreign conflicts dominate the headlines, only 3% of voters say that foreign policy is the most important issue facing the United States. It ranks last in a list of 9 issues. Americans consider the economy (35%) and immigration/border security (19%) to be the main problems.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukraine will receive another package of military aid from the United States by the end of 2023. However, if the US Congress does not approve President Joe Biden's request for additional funding for Ukraine, this package may be the last.
