"That is what I wish this state": Lithuanian diplomat's eloquent hint to Orban, known by scandalous statements about Ukraine

Arnoldas Pranckevičius hinted to the government of Viktor Orban

Lithuania wished Hungary not to face the kind of war that Ukraine is currently experiencing. Lithuanian Permanent Representative to the European Union Arnoldas Pranckevičius hinted that Budapest should withdraw from the EU if the country's authorities are not ready to share the values and principles of the European Union.

The diplomat published the relevant post on Facebook, commenting on the results of the EU summit meeting. He wrote that all but one of the EU states made important decisions: they agreed to start accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova and to grant candidate status to Georgia. All but one of them agreed to provide Kyiv with macro-financial assistance of 50 billion euros. "All but one of them welcomed the results of the summit," the Lithuanian Permanent Representative to the EU noted.

This one country, as Pranckevičius hinted, is Hungary, which boasted of its "achievements."

"I would like to wish this member state to never experience the war that the people of Ukraine are currently experiencing, to never have its cities bombed and its citizens killed, to never have its territories occupied by an aggressor state. I wish it never to ask for solidarity from others and never to find itself in a situation where allies veto vital aid in times of greatest need," Pranckevičius said.

He added that if this country is not ready to share the solidarity and mutual trust of the EU, "there is only one right decision: to leave it".

As OBOZ.UA previously reported:

- On December 14, EU leaders decided to start membership negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova and granted candidate status to Georgia.

- During the vote, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban left the room. Read more about this here.

- Later, Orban said that Budapest would still be able to suspend Ukraine's accession process if necessary. He called the EU's decision to start negotiations with Kyiv a "bad one".
