Macron postpones visit to Ukraine for security reasons - Challenges

French President Emmanuel Macron will not come to Ukraine on February 13 and 14, as planned, he has postponed his visit indefinitely. The Elysee Palace justifies this postponement, in particular, by security issues.

This was reported by Challenges. The publication notes that the cancellation of Macron's visit has raised many questions among French civil servants and leaders, as well as Ukrainian diplomats.

"Macron's first bilateral visit, scheduled for February 13-14, has been postponed," the newspaper said.

It is noted that representatives of the Union of French Entrepreneurs (Medef), who were simultaneously organizing an "exceptional mission" to Kyiv, also canceled their planned trip.

The newspaper writes that Macron was also supposed to visit Odesa and announce the creation of a 200 million euro fund. The funds were to be paid in the form of donations for civilian projects carried out by French small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the publication, which cites the Elysee Palace, Macron's visit was postponed to ensure his safety.

In addition, the French president wants to intensify support for Kyiv through a new aid package from Paris and European partners before his trip to Ukraine.

No new date has been set for Macron's visit to Ukraine.

The French leader confirmed that within the framework of the Artillery Coalition, Paris would produce and transfer dozens of Caesar artillery systems and their shells to Ukraine.

As a reminder, the new French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal said that Paris was going to increase funding for military assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, France will expand the list of weapons it provides to our military to deter Russian aggression.
