Israeli tanks and infantry enter Gaza
On the night of Thursday, October 26, Israel Defense Forces soldiers entered Gaza City with tanks and infantry. They crossed the border in the northern part of the Strip, calling it a "targeted raid."

"At night, the IDF conducted a targeted raid using tanks in the northern Gaza Strip in preparation for the next stages of hostilities. The operations were led by the Givati Brigade," the publication says.

The military did not indicate whether this was the start of a ground operation by the Israeli army, which Tel Aviv announced a few days after the October 7 attack by Hamas terrorists.
