Israel destroys top-secret facility in Iran

During a missile strike on Iran in late October, one of the targets of the Israeli army was a nuclear weapons research center. This top-secret facility was used by Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

At the same time, Russia played an important role in Iran's nuclear program, as Moscow provided Tehran with classified information and technology. This is reported by Axios.

The Israeli strike on Iran's Parchin military complex has significantly complicated Iran's development of a nuclear explosive device. Israeli officials said that the sophisticated equipment that was destroyed was needed to develop and test the plastic explosives that surround uranium in a nuclear device and are necessary for its detonation.

According to U.S. and Israeli officials, Iran has resumed sensitive nuclear research over the past year but has not taken any steps toward developing a real nuclear weapon. Israeli officials have said that if Iran does decide to build a nuclear weapon, it will have to replace the destroyed equipment, and if Iran tries to acquire one, they believe they can track it.

A high-ranking Israeli official with direct knowledge said that it is impossible to speak with complete clarity about Iran's nuclear plans and capabilities. At the same time, it is known that the top-secret Talegan-2 facility on the territory of the Parchin military complex, which was destroyed in the strike, was used until 2003 to test explosives necessary to activate a nuclear device.

According to Israeli officials, the equipment was developed as part of Iran's now-closed military nuclear program and had been stored for at least two decades. The equipment at the Taleban-2 facility could be critical in the final stages if Iran decided to move towards building a nuclear bomb.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported, citing Western officials, that Russia shares classified information and technologies with Iran that could bring Tehran closer to the possibility of creating nuclear weapons. In exchange, Iran supplies the Russian army with ballistic missiles for the war against Ukraine.

In recent months, the Kremlin has expanded its cooperation with Iran in connection with its ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons. The White House administration has stated that the United States is ready to use all elements of national power to prevent any nuclear escalation by Iran.

Earlier it was reported that Iran is ready to resolve "all disputes" with the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding compliance with its nuclear program. But Iran "will not do this under pressure".

As reported by OBOZ.UA, earlier the director of the Penta Center for Applied Political Studies, Oleksandr Leonov, explained that after Trump broke the nuclear deal, Iran accelerated the process of creating nuclear weapons. But, according to the expert, the emergence of such weapons in Iran does not mean the mere emergence of a new nuclear power.
