In Berlin, the court lifted the ban on the use of Ukrainian flags on May 8 and 9: this does not apply to Russia

An administrative court in Berlin has lifted a ban on the hanging of Ukrainian flags on the streets of the capital of Germany on May 8 and 9, when the whole world, including Germany, will celebrate the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II. However, the ban on Russian tricolors remains in force.

This was reported by the RBB agency. The decision made the day before to ban state symbols of the two countries, was appealed by the organization of the Ukrainian diaspora "Veche", of course, this complaint did not mention the flag of the enemy of the Russian Federation.

"The administrative court affirmed our legal opinion: the ban on Ukrainian flags, according to the court, is clearly illegal. Anyone exercising their fundamental right to publicly identify themselves as a Ukrainian nation and recognize their historical sacrifices in the defeat of National Socialism is not a threat to public safety," commented attorney for the organization Patrick Heinemann.

During official events on the occasion of May 9 in Berlin, any salute or slogan that supports the bloody war in Ukraine will be banned. Violators face fines and even administrative arrests.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, a flight from Moscow circled over Berlin in April, despite Germany's ban on Russian planes crossing its airspace. Exact information about the airliner was never voiced, but experts do not rule out that Russian diplomats who were expelled from diplomatic missions in Germany boarded the plane.
