Wagner PMC aircraft crashes in Mali

A Russian Il-76 military transport plane crashed at Gao airport in Mali. It was probably used by mercenaries of the Wagner private military company, with several groups of militants on board at the time of the crash.

This was reported by AviaNews, a service that broadcasts aviation news around the world. The report does not specify the reasons for the crash.

The IL-76 is designed to transport equipment and cargo for various purposes. Depending on the modification, the aircraft can deliver cargo weighing up to 60 tons over a distance of more than 4,200 kilometers.

As a reminder, a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation. Its crew allegedly managed to eject.

A few days before that, a Su-24 crashed in the Volgograd region. The pilots could not be saved.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, a plane carrying an odious businessman and owner of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin crashed in the Tver region exactly one month ago. According to most Western experts, as well as official Kyiv, this death was the Kremlin's revenge for the attempted coup d'état in Russia that took place two months before the crash.
