"I don't know if I'm insulted or he did me a favor": Trump reacts to Putin's support for Harris
US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has responded to Russian dictator Putin's sudden "praise" of his opponent Kamala Harris. The former US president said that he could not decide whether Putin had helped him or insulted him.
Trump said this during a speech at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday, September 5. The US presidential candidate admitted that he does not know how to evaluate the Kremlin leader's statements.
"He endorsed Kamala. I don't know exactly what to say about that. I don't know if I'm insulted or he did me a favor," Trump said.
As a reminder, Russian dictator Putin revealed that the aggressor country would "support" Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The dictator said that previously the "favorite" in Russia was US President Joe Biden, who will not participate in the presidential race.
"As for the favorites, it is not for us to determine. This is the choice of the American people. Our favorite, so to speak, was Mr. Biden. He was withdrawn from the race, but he recommended supporting Ms. Harris. And we will do so, we will support her," the dictator said.
Putin also noted that Harris has a "contagious laugh," so she is "doing well." The Russian president noted that if Harris is doing well, he hopes that sanctions against Russia will be eased if she wins.
After that, Sky News wrote that Putin's statements demonstrate the Russian dictator's "smile and intrigue" because he "does not always say what he thinks."
As reported earlier, Donald Trump commented on the charges brought against him by the special prosecutor over the events of January 6, 2021. The politician said that he had "every right" to interfere in the presidential election.
