Iran at the UN threatens Israel with a response if it "makes a new mistake"

Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations has stated that Tehran's attack on Israel was a response to the "Zionist regime's" aggression against Iranian diplomatic missions in Damascus. They claim that Iran's military actions were carried out in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter on legitimate defense.

This is stated in the message of the Iranian Permanent Mission on the social network X. They noted that "the issue can be considered exhausted".

There were also threats against Israel - Iran said that if the Israeli regime "makes another mistake," Iran's response will be "much more severe." They also appealed to the United States.

"This is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime from which the United States MUST STAY AWAY!" the statement reads.

Israeli Prime Minister's spokesman Ophir Handelman said that "Israel's response to Iran's attack will be tough and clear."

Iran has violated the UN Charter and poses a threat to peace and security, said Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN Gilad Erdan. He appealed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres with the words "Where is your voice? Where is your condemnation? Wake up!!!".

The latter soon issued a statement in which he "strongly condemned" the serious escalation represented by Iran's large-scale attack on Israel. He called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

"I am deeply concerned about the very real danger of a devastating escalation throughout the region. I call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid any action that could lead to major military clashes on multiple fronts in the Middle East. I have repeatedly emphasized that neither the region nor the world can afford another war," Guterres said.

We are following the events in Israel, which is under drone and missile attack by Iran, online.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Iran said that Tehran would react harshly to the actions of any country that "opens its airspace or territory to attacks by Israel." This statement was made by Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani.
