Accused Ukraine of the "coup of 2014": pro-Russian MP was replaced in the Greek Parliament

Yannis Giokas spoke with pro-Kremlin narratives

In Greece, Communist Party MP Yannis Giokas delivered pro-Kremlin narratives about the war in Ukraine during a meeting of a special committee. In the spirit of Russian propaganda, he accused Kyiv of the "2014 coup" and the activities of "Nazis," but the pro-Russian MP was quickly put in his place and forced to leave the meeting room.

The incident was reported by the Greek media. As noted, instead of discussing the situation of Ukrainians of Greek descent in eastern Ukraine, which has been subjected to Russian aggression, Giokas accused Ukraine of the alleged "coup of 2014" and the activities of "Nazi gangs" and criticized President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Honorary Consul of Greece in Kherson, Pantelis Boumbouras, who was present at the meeting, interrupted the pro-Russian MP, pointing out the outright lies and asking "Who pays him to spread such narratives?"

In response, Giokas started shouting and demanding support from the committee chairman. However, the latter supported Boumbouras and urged Giokas not to conflict with the guests of the parliament.

Eventually, unable to continue defending Moscow's propaganda, Giockas left the meeting room.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that Athens had supported and continued to support Ukraine, and despite strong cultural and religious ties with Russia, "strongly oppose the Kremlin regime."
