Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that numerous calls for peace talks opened a window for peace in Ukraine. The head of the diplomatic ministry stated that dialogue is always better than confrontation, and peace talks are always better than war.

At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that the concerns of all parties "should be addressed" equally. Wang Yi said this in an interview with Chinese media, the press service of the Chinese Foreign Ministry reports.

According to him, China supports all efforts to achieve peace and hopes that all parties will find sustainable and long-term solutions that take into account each other's interests. In addition, Wang Yi emphasized that his country continues to play an important role in the political settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

At the same time, the minister noted that China's proposals for a peaceful settlement are objective, fair, rational, and pragmatic. Wang Yi also believes that the position of official Beijing reflects the broad consensus of the international community.

"China has consistently advocated for settling global disputes and conflicts through dialogue, consultation and political means. China is not a party to the Ukraine Crisis, but we have not sat idly by or added fuel to the fire, and we firmly oppose any move to exploit the crisis," the Chinese Foreign Minister said.

As a reminder, a few days ago, China outlined its position on ending the war in Ukraine: Beijing expressed confidence that a fair agreement will be reached soon.

As previously reported, US President Donald Trump's team said that he is very confident in his ability to reach an agreement with Russia to end the "conflict" in Ukraine. So much so that Washington hopes that the allegedly three-year war could end "as early as next week."
