The Russian Su-57 fighter jet made its first appearance at an air show outside of Russia, where it became the object of ridicule and gained notoriety as a box of bolts. At the China Airshow 2024, visitors filmed it in detail for the first time, as the Russians had previously not allowed spectators to see the Su-57.

"Lots of screws: a closer look at Russia's 5th generation Su-57 fighter jet at the Zhuhai Airshow in China" is the caption of the video of the Russian aircraft posted online. What really catches the eye is the large number of bolts holding the fuselage panels.

There are also many questions about the quality of the docking of elements, in particular the flaps of the internal weapons bay with other elements of the fuselage.

The footage of the Su-57's tail section was posted online for the first time. They make it clear that bolts with different slots are used for fastening: cross, straight, and hexagonal.

The Ukrainian military portal Defence Express writes that this participation of the Su-57 in the air show marked the final destruction of the myth that this aircraft somehow belongs to the fifth generation. The footage also proved that all Russian aircraft technology remained in the 20th century.

"These videos are actively circulating on Chinese social networks, where Chinese users are directly mocking and ridiculing the Russian aircraft. This is not a production fighter, but a prototype. Given the number 054 - T-50-4, that is, the fourth aircraft for all tests, which should be as close to perfect as possible," the article says.

In general, the entire production technology of the Su-57, which is called a fifth-generation fighter only in the Russian Federation, indicates that it has only a fuselage shape as a stealth technology.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported the extent of damage to two Russian Su-57 fighters at the airfield in Akhtubinsk. One aircraft has significant damage, the other has lighter damage.
