Late in the evening on January 18, another accident involving Ukrainians occurred in Poland. A bus carrying 26 people lost control, crashed into a tree and overturned.

Three people were hospitalized. The details were revealed by the Polish publication RMF24.

According to the publication, the accident occurred at about 23:30 on January 18 on the highway No. 812 in the Wisznice Commune, Bielsk County, Lublin Voivodeship.

As the Main Department of Municipal Police in Biała Podlaska told reporters, it has been preliminarily established that due to difficult weather conditions, the bus skidded on a curve and the 63-year-old driver of the bus, which was carrying 26 Ukrainian citizens, lost control of the vehicle. A police examination showed that he was completely sober.

"The driver drove to the side of the road and hit a guardrail. After that, the bus rolled over on its side and hit a tree," the newspaper quoted a police statement as saying.

According to police, there were victims of the accident. Three people were hospitalized, including an 80-year-old man who was injured.

Oleg Nikolenko, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, told OBOZ.UA that the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin is providing consular assistance to Ukrainians who suffered in the accident.

According to him, two people were injured, not three.

"As a result of the accident, two Ukrainians suffered minor injuries. There are no threats to their lives. They are being provided with the necessary medical care. The rest of the passengers are being accommodated in a temporary waiting area. The carrier has already provided another bus that will take our citizens to Ukraine," Nikolenko said.

He added that Ukrainian diplomats are in touch with Polish law enforcement officers, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, and are monitoring the treatment of the injured people.

On January 16, it became known that a 4-year-old girl from Ukraine, who fled the war with her mother, died in a car accident in Poland.

Three people became victims of the collision between the two cars. In addition to the little girl, a 69-year-old driver and a 68-year-old passenger died. According to preliminary data, the 69-year-old driver of an Opel Astra drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes Vito carrying five people, including 4-year-old Ksenia. The child died from her injuries at the scene of the accident. Her mother was hospitalized with injuries.

Later it turned out that six months before her death, the little Ukrainian refugee had already survived an accident. Then Ksenia became disabled.
