The Ukrainian Peace Summit may take place in Switzerland on June 16-17. The conference may be hosted by the city of Lucerne.

This preliminary information was reported by Bloomberg regarding sources. There have been no official statements on the matter so far.

Representatives of 80 to 100 countries, mostly from the so-called Global South, may gather in Switzerland, which has historically remained neutral in European conflicts, in mid-June.

The high-level summit will follow four meetings of national security advisors that Ukraine has organized to build support for its Peace Formula. The last of these meetings took place in Davos, Switzerland, in early 2024.

One source said that an official statement from the Swiss government on the Ukrainian Peace Summit could be made as early as April 10.

It is not yet known whether China will be among the participants. The exact number of state leaders is also not reported.

A Bloomberg source said that Beijing's presence is a "key point of disagreement." So far, Chinese representatives have attended only one of the four meetings of national security advisers aimed at laying the groundwork for the summit.

Russia will not attend the event. Ukraine wants to reach a broad agreement on key principles that would form the basis of any future settlement before engaging with Moscow, journalists said.
