Linus Torvalds responded sharply to Russian trolls

Linux creator Linus Torvalds responded to the Russians' hysteria about "passport discrimination" that they threw online after 11 Russian programmers were expelled from the project. He reminded the Russians of the sanctions.

Employees of Russian companies were suspended from developing the Linux kernel. This was reported by the OpenNET portal.

They were dismissed without any detailed explanation, limited to the vague pretext of "compliance requirements" and the need to provide certain "documentation".

One of the leading Linux developers, Greg Kroah-Hartman, published a list of those who were excluded from the project. Most of them use email addresses in the .ru domain zone, and some are associated with well-known Russian companies.

After that, there was a wave of hate from Russian representatives online. They accused Linux of "discriminating" against Russians.

Linus Torvalds decided to bring them to their senses with the truth without embellishment. He reminded the Russians of the sanctions and that he was a Finn and knew history well. Obviously, he was referring to the Finnish War and the lands taken away from his homeland.

"Okay, Russian trolls. It is absolutely clear why the changes were made, they are not canceled.

If you haven't heard about the anti-Russian sanctions, you should read the news sometime. And by "news" I don't mean spam sponsored by the Russian state.

Try to turn on what you call your brains. I am a Finn. Did you really think I would support Russian aggression? Obviously, it's not just the lack of real news, but also the lack of knowledge of history," Linus Torvalds said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, ABBYY has fired all Russian employees in its international offices, replacing them with Indian programmers to cut costs. The dismissed Russians are complaining en masse about "injustice," organizing online harassment of the company and complaining that their standard of living abroad will now sink.
