Yevlash: AFU advances near Bakhmut, one of the occupants' logistical routes is under fire

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are destroying Russian occupants near Bakhmut, Donetsk region. They are also reducing the enemy's defense capabilities. The Bakhmut-Horlivka highway, the invaders' logistics route, is currently under fire.

This was reported by the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ilia Yevlash. He spoke about it on the air of the Yedyni Novyny TV marathon on Sunday, September 24.

"One of the ways (we can already reach it) is the Bakhmut-Horlivka highway, which is located 3 km from the contact line. This is a working distance for our mortars and UAVs," the military said.

The Russian Armed Forces still have several other roads that are used to supply the Bakhmut group of the occupiers.

Yevlash noted that the task of the Defense Forces is to cut these roads "to deplete the Russian group in this direction and inflict as many losses as itis possible"

"The enemy is still trying to recapture lost positions near Klishchiivka and Andriivka. However, our defenders manage to repel these attacks, gain a foothold and continue their offensive on the southern flank. In particular, we are making progress in the Bakhmut and Klishchiivka directions," the Ukrainian Armed Forces spokesman said.

Intense fighting continues. Ukrainian troops eliminated 159 Russian occupants and destroyed two ammunition depots and several pieces of enemy equipment in the area of Bakhmut over the past day (September 23).
