A large Russian S-70 "Okhotnik" jet drone was found to contain Western components used by the occupiers despite sanctions. Among them are microelectronics and other components from the United States, Germany, and Switzerland.

This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. According to the intelligence officers, the use of Western components in the Russian UAV became known thanks to the analysis of the structure of the "Okhotnik," which was shot down on October 5, 2024, near Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.

The evidence is presented on the War & Sanctions portal.

In particular, microelectronics and other technological components manufactured by Analog Devices, Texas Instruments and Xilinx-AMD (USA), Infineon Technologies (Germany), STMicroelectronics (Switzerland) were found in the Russian drone.

In total, the aggressor country had four prototypes of the S-70 drone in service.

The cost of such a Russian "Okhotnik" is about $15 million.

The S-70 UAV is, among other things, a carrier of UMPB D-30 bombs, which the enemy drops to destroy Ukraine's civilian infrastructure.

Specifications of the S-70 "Okhotnik"

Fuselage length: 14 м.

Wingspan: 19 м.

Combat load: 2.8 tons, according to other sources – up to 7-8 tons.

Takeoff weight of the UAV: 25 tons.

Maximum speed: 1400 km/h at minimum altitude.

Practical ceiling: 18 000 м.

Flight range: 6,000 km.

According to the drone's creators, the "Okhotnik" should be able to carry guided missiles, guided and unguided bombs in the internal payload compartment, as well as on the wing suspension units.

In addition, the Russian Federation boasted that the S-70 would be used to attack targets without entering the range of air defense systems of manned aircraft.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down the latest Russian S-70 "Okhotnik" strike UAV near Kostiantynivka. Presumably, the operator lost control of it.

It is possible that the occupiers destroyed their unique drone to prevent it from reaching the Ukrainian Armed Forces intact. Nevertheless, the UAV crashed in government-controlled territory, and its wreckage became available for expert examination.

The use of the S-70 "Okhotnik" in the war first became known in June 2023, when the Russians released a photo of the UAV in the sky over Ukraine. However, experts have questioned the Russian media's claim of a "new super drone on the battlefield."
