"We are working on it very actively": Ukraine's ambassador to US on new deliveries of ATACMS missiles for Ukraine
Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, said that the package of ATACMS ballistic missiles provided by Washington to Kyiv was not the only one. "We are about to receive a new supply of these warheads, and there is a prospect that they will become systemic.
The diplomat spoke about this on the air of the UA Razom TV marathon. She noted that it is still too early to name terms and specify the stage of negotiations on this issue.
"Let me put it diplomatically: we are working on it very actively," Markarova said optimistically.
She also commented on the prospect of members of Congress approving $61 billion in wartime defense aid for Ukraine. According to the ambassador, Kyiv can be confident in the support of its American partners as before.
"Ukraine does have strong bipartisan support. We simply have no chance that Congress will not make this decision," Markarova said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the US-made ATACMS missiles that Ukraine recently received can demolish entire helicopter landing sites and cut off supply routes. But there are several things these missiles cannot do, including the destruction of the most protected combat vehicles and tanks.
As a reminder, on the night of October 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the occupiers' helicopters and airfield equipment near Luhansk and Berdiansk. The invaders deployed aircraft there to strike the front line.
It later became known that very effective strikes were carried out with the help of American ATACMS missiles, the delivery of which was not officially reported. However, on the evening of October 17, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine had used long-range missiles from the United States.
