"We are behind schedule": Budanov makes a statement on the timing of the war in Ukraine and comments on the possibility of blackouts in Moscow

Kyrylo Budanov speaks about when the war may end

Ukraine's defense forces are ahead of schedule in the war against the Russian invaders. At the same time, Moscow is experiencing the consequences of the full-scale aggression it has unleashed, and it is possible that there will be temporary blackouts in the Russian capital.

These statements were made by the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov. He gave a new interview to Ukrayinska Pravda (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Interview with Kyrylo Budanov

The journalist noted that earlier the head of the Defense Intelligence suggested that there was a chance of ending the war in 2023. He asked the lieutenant general what went wrong.

"There are objective and subjective reasons - everything in a complex. But, I'm sorry, most of the explanations are state secrets and are simply not for public discussion. Over time, it will all become clear," Budanov replied.

When asked to clarify how far behind the schedule we are, the DIU chief explained that we are out of it, not behind. These are different things.

"So everything has gone wrong at all?" the journalist asked. "Not everything has gone wrong. Let's not clarify and explain all this - we are behind schedule - let everyone draw their own conclusion," Budanov said.

When asked whether we can expect blackouts in Moscow in the winter, he replied: "Temporary, perhaps."

According to the intelligence officer, this is a natural process: if you take "some ugly steps," sooner or later they will come back to haunt you.

As OBOZREVATEL:

- Earlier, Kyrylo Budanov said that representatives of the Ukrainian intelligence service had made three attempts to liberate the temporarily occupied city of Enerhodar, where the Zaporizhzhia NPP is located. These operations failed.

- Budanov said that despite preparations for a war against Ukraine, Russia had doubts whether it would happen and whether they were really "waiting" for the occupiers.
