The US says it is running out of ammunition because of aid to Ukraine

Because of Washington's military assistance to Ukraine, the U.S. is facing depletion of its own ammunition stockpile. For this reason, Joe Biden has ordered his Pentagon to work quickly to expand U.S. capacity to produce all ammunition

This was stated by the US President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. It will take quite a long time to replenish the stockpile to an acceptable level.

He noted that since taking office, President Joe Biden's administration has found that the total stockpile of Standard Ammunition 155, a widely used artillery round and NATO standard ammunition, has been relatively inadequate.

According to Sullivan, the administration also found that restoring the stockpile to an acceptable level would take years, not months. That presents a daunting task for a country that is actively involved in the Ukraine conflict.

"President Biden has ordered his Pentagon to work quickly to expand the U.S. capability to produce all the munitions we might need in any conflict and at any time. Month after month, we are increasing our munitions capabilities," he said.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, the draft defense budget for next year, adopted by the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, was passed to the Senate for consideration. Within the framework of this project was allocated an amount of 300 million dollars to support Ukraine.
