The successful activities of the BO Team cyber activists continue. This time, their next victim was the Internet service provider Vega from the city of Snezhinsk, Chelyabinsk region, known since Soviet times as the closed administrative-territorial formation Chelyabinsk-70.

This was reported by Information Resistance. The results of the attack exceeded all expectations: more than 1173 switches of the provider and 10 servers of the company were disabled, and all information on them was destroyed.

As a result, Internet and communication services have been blocked for five days in a row for a number of strategic enterprises in the city, and the prospects for their full restoration look bleak.

According to BO Team, which claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, Vega is the only Internet service provider in the city. One of the city's major enterprises, VNIITF (All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Physics), which develops nuclear munitions, is connected only to this provider.

As a result of the attack, hackers gained access to personal data and documents of the sanctioned plant. The data obtained shows who and how helps the institute circumvent these sanctions. In particular, the correspondence on social media shows that the attack could lead to the disruption of the state defense order. "BO Team not only took responsibility for this disruption but also warned that this was not their last attack.

Vega only reported the attack on its infrastructure, promising to resume operations by August 17. However, according to BO Team's forecasts, the recovery may be delayed indefinitely.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian cyber specialists from BO Team attacked the Russian group of companies Rostselmash Combine Plant. As a result of the skillful actions of our IT specialists, more than 110 servers and about 2500 computers of the company were disabled.

Earlier it was reported that the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has completed a large-scale cyberattack on the financial sector and government resources of the Russian aggressor country. As a result, critical resources were affected and a large amount of confidential data was accessed.
